Residential Surveys throughout Kent
We carry out various forms of building inspections that are tailored to accommodate your specific requirements. We inspect all types of premises and we have particular expertise in the diagnosis of dampness.
Surveys and inspections are a “health check” for buildings. Whether you are buying, selling, mortgaging, renovating or repairing a property, it is useful to commission a structural inspection or other recommended type of survey before you complete – it could actually save you money
We have seen many surveys and the average survey is a catalogue of “get out” clauses:
Our surveys are carried out in accordance with The British Standards Code of Practice and our surveys compiled in comprehensive, detailed and edited reports.

What survey may I need?
A Pre-purchase Home Condition Survey – Not as intrusive as a Building Survey. Suitable for properties built within the last 150 years or so. This type of survey covers all the essentials, roof, walls etc and reports on their general condition and urgent matters but does not open up the fabric of the building. Quite often highlights areas that may require further inspection such as drains or possible issues with the structure. Does not contain a property valuation.
We will provide a very comprehensive inspection of a property that is being considered for purchase, refurbishment, adaptation or renovation. This type of survey can involve the lifting of floorboards to inspect beneath or forensic damp testing. The Building Survey is suitable for any property old or new. Includes maintenance advice and approximate costs to manage defects. Does not contain a property valuation

Thermal Imaging Survey
Millions of homes and commercial buildings in the UK suffer from serious defects that lie undetected until tangible consequences start to occur.
Rather than attempting to diagnose these defects with destructive, time-consuming and ultimately speculative surveying techniques, an infrared survey from GL Surveyors will provide you with a detailed and impartial property inspection report highlighting exactly where the problems lie and understand what can be done.

Our surveys will take the stress out of defect detection. Our assessments are non-destructive and avoid the need for drilling holes, erecting scaffolding, evacuating tenants or similar measures that cost you time and money.
Instead, it takes only a short while to capture a thermal image capable of revealing a vast array of building problems. This enables our clients to conduct regular ‘health checks’ of properties as opposed to letting defects worsen.

This holistic approach is necessary to ensure the ongoing health of your buildings and ensure property owners meet government standards, pass building code test detections and maintain the value of assets or building portfolios
Each of our inspection reports that we produce is based on facts. If your property is in perfect working order, we tell you that. If problems exist in areas that had not initially been suspected, we tell you that as well and offer straight forward advice on the best course of action to take.
